We've gone for Gold!

We're incredibly proud to let you all know that three of our Fowey Valley products have been awarded with gold Taste of the West medals.

Taste of the West are the largest independent regional food group in the UK. They have been promoting and supporting fantastic local food and drink from the region since 1991. That's Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire. Their aim is to champion food and drink producers in the West Country, as well as all the places that serve and sell them, to prove that when it comes to what you eat and drink, it really is best in the South West.

They run an annual awards scheme to ensure high standards are maintained - so look out for the shiny round award logos you see on quality West Country products, and the awards that are proudly displayed where you eat and shop for local food and drink.

Our Fowey Valley Vodka was the first to be awarded Gold in Class 21: Wines, Spirits & Liqueurs. We're really proud of this superbly smooth spirit. We distill it in batches of 200 litres from our own alcohol on copper pot stills. Like silk, with a hint of vanilla, caramel and fennel. Think Vodka tonic, think Martini, or for sipping, simply serve ice-cold from the fridge in a chilled glass.

This was followed by our Cider Brandy, Oak Cask Matured 1 Year, and finally our Cider Brandy, Oak Cask Matured 2 Year. The newest additions to our collection, the 1 year is Distilled five times from our vintage cider and laid down in new, small American oak barrels for more than twelve months. Straw-gold in colour with black cherry and sandalwood on the nose. On the palate are nuts, molasses and raisins with a hint of liquorice and pepper. The 2 year is laid down in the same barrels for more than two years. Deep amber in colour with spicy fruit and oak on the nose. The palate has a beautiful addition of clove, with a lovely longer finish. We only have one barrel (so far)..
